Lavender

Updated: Aug 4, 2020

Lavender is most commonly used in aromatherapy. The fragrance from the oils of the lavender plant is believed to help promote calmness and wellness. It's also said to help reduce stress, anxiety, and possibly even mild pain.

When you think of lavender (‘lavandula’), you’re probably envisioning a big, cozy bed and a peaceful, relaxing night’s sleep, free of anxiety and worry. And you’re not wrong: Lavender is widely used to help people sleep and reduce stress. However, in addition to offering a calming, comforting scent and acting as a natural sleep aid, lavender can also help chase away pesky pests, especially mosquitoes and ticks.

Repels moths, fleas, flies and mosquitoes. Lavender has been used for centuries to add a pleasantly sweet fragrance to homes and clothes drawers. Although people love the smell of lavender, mosquitoes, flies and other unwanted insects hate it.
